| Go South kicked off in 2006 in Dakar with our hosts joining an expedition travelling to Timbuktu and then proceed southwards through East Africa. In total, they travelled through 12 countries – Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, DRC, Angola, Namibia and finally, South Africa. The presenters took the viewers on a voyage of continental discovery. They experienced the great and little known wonders each country offers, including some of Africa's incredible heritage sites. From deserts to virgin forests to unblemished beaches. The viewers also got the chance to meet Africa's people - the most incredible tribes from ancient villages, Sahara desert travellers, war torn inner city dwellers, 100’s of different languages and dialects. The first season of Go South has also been sold into a variety of territories. |
